Thank you again for your order of DCFC: The Barsuk Years. We’re sorry to have to let you know that we have encountered more delays in the manufacturing of the vinyl for this beautiful collection. We are doing everything we can to speed things along, and will be shipping all sets on or before March 31, 2013.

Marching Bands of Manhattan - Death Cab for Cutie

And it is true what you said
That I live like a hermit in my own head
But when the sun shines again
I’ll pull the curtains and blinds to let the light in

I literally just fell off my chair from laughing so much.

Can’t seem to wipe the stupid grin off of my face. Keys and Codes EP, 274 out of 500.

you think you’re funny.

(PS. Ben Gibbard totezz loves DC. Even if the show isn’t exactly in DC.)

important things that were discussed in the chris walla live chat spectacular earlier this afternoon:

  1. there will most likely not be a vinyl pressing offield manual, which sucks.
  2. if you want the keys and codes EP on vinyl, go get it. they aren’t planning on repressing it even though it’s out of 500.
  3. the older death cab for cutie albums really will be repressed, he promises. it’s in the works. (let’s be real, the longer this takes, the more time and effort we know is going into it and we don’t have to worry about a crappy repressing. no one wants that.)
  4. no, he’s really not producing anything on the new tegan and sara album. yes, this is sad. but he has heard things and he’s pretty stoked on it.
  5. he’s recording the solo album at the end of the year and rebuilding hall of justice in the process.
  6. after this tour, summer festivals and other summer shows, there will be a break from death cab for cutie for a little while.
  7. he’s really done with twitter, y’all. yes, no more @jumex. it’s been nuked. we are all sad to see it go.
  8. jason mcgerr is a bad ass.
  9. are you listening to the head and the heart, pickwick, bryan john appleby, or campfire OK yet, because you should. the seattle scene is doing AMAZING things right now. seriously.
  10. oh and jack white is apparently a total “sweetheart.” dude has nothing but love and respect for him.

(you’re welcome for asking 1+2, oh, and my face was five kinds of red for a little bit.)

ps. his hair cut is SO DAPPER

“Radio” - Chris Walla

One of the few songs from the ill-fated Martin Youth Auxiliary record that actually got finished. I used a few pieces of ‘Radio’ in the song Transatlanticism; they’re in the same key and it made sense. It’s nice to share.”
